Megan Moroney cancelled her show in Denver last night after performing the first three songs.
The ‘Cloud 9’ singer announced that she was unable to continue the show due to being “extremely sick”.
By the end of Moroney’s third song, ‘Bless Your Heart’, her pain was visible in her performance and she promptly exited the stage. On her return, she announced that she could not continue the show.
“This is obviously the last thing I wanted to do,” she shared, “I am obviously extremely sick. I thought I did everything to make myself better.”
Fighting back tears, she told the crowd, “I just can’t play this show tonight”.
Already emotional on stage after the crowd cheered in support, Moroney posted a statement shortly after while she was “bawling her eyes out” in her dressing room.
“That was the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make and I’m so sorry to cancel the show tonight.”
“I never ever will give you guys a show that is not 100% and by song 3 I knew that I was not capable of giving that to you tonight. I’m typing this as I’m quite literally bawling my eyes out in my dressing room & it hurts me so much to disappoint you all.”
She closed with a heartfelt apology, “I’ve never had to do this and I’m truly so sorry. I love you guys”.
The Denver show has been rescheduled for the 27th August with all tickets from the original date being honoured and refunds issued if patrons can no longer attend the date. Fans should visit their point of sale for more information.
Although disappointed, the Emo Cowgirls have taken to social media to send the Georgia native their best wishes, with many fans stating that ‘health always comes first’ and to ‘normalise sick days’.
Moroney’s next The Cloud 9 Tour date is this weekend, Saturday August 1st, in Portland, and we’re all rooting for a recovered Meg by then.
