Lauren Alaina and Kane Brown are reuniting for the first time since their Diamond-certified 2016 single, ‘What Ifs’, with the duo releasing ‘Never Been In Love’ on Friday, July 17th.

Everyone keeps saying that 2026 is the year when all the things that were cool in 2016 are making a major comeback - and to be quite honest, we couldn't be more excited.

Florida Georgia Line are back together, Fetty Wap is popular again, and now, Lauren Alaina and Kane Brown have revealed they're running it back with a brand new duet.

The duo first teamed up for ‘What Ifs’ back in 2016, an infectious, uptempo hit that has since established itself as one of the biggest country songs of the 2010s. It became one of the few songs in the genre to have been RIAA certified Diamond in February 2025, in honour of the anthem moving the equivalent of 10 million units.

‘Never Been In Love’, which the two artists have been teasing via a series of playful, heartwarming socials posts, is set to appear on Alaina's keenly awaited new album, Stages.

Judging by the clip they've been sharing across socials, the new track will be an uptempo throwback earworm - exactly the kind of song we'd want from this formidable duo.

We were treated to a host of now-iconic performances from Alaina and Brown throughout the late 2000s courtesy of ‘What Ifs’, and we can't wait to see these two good friends back in action on-stage soon. It ensures the anticipation remains through the roof ahead of Alaina's new project, Stages, which arrives on August 28th, 2026.
