Although Larry Fleet has become a big-name artist in his own right in recent years, he'd be the first to say that his first love will always be songwriting - and it's clear that he's still very excited about one of his most recent co-writes being cut by Morgan Wallen and Eric Church.
‘Made Made A Bar’, which Fleet penned alongside Brett Tyler, Jordan Dozzi and Rocky Block, has been one of the most celebrated tracks on Morgan Wallen's game-changing new album, One Thing At A Time. In honour of the song's success, Larry Fleet has treated fans to a special live rendition of the emotional track.
It adds a playful twist to the Biblical story of creation, and reimagines the origin of man's use of alcohol to treat wounds of the heart (“So God made a girl, His best work of art / Oh, but He didn't make no place to go / When she breaks your heart / So man made a bar”).
Fleet has become known for his distinctive, soul-stirring vocals, and as expected, his live version captures the evocative, gospel-tinged poignance that Morgan Wallen and Eric Church give ‘Man Made A Bar’.
Larry Fleet's live rendition comes shortly after the ‘Where I Find God’ hitmaker shared the heartwarming moment he first heard Wallen and Church's recording of ‘Man Made A Bar’. Fleet is visibly moved in the clip, and he praises the way his song ultimately turned out.
Larry Fleet toured with Wallen last year, with the duo posting a powerful joint rendition of Fleet's biggest song to date, ‘Where I Find God’. Like ‘Man Made A Bar’, the Gold-certified single revolves around the theme of faith which so often pervades Fleet's music.
Larry Fleet is currently out on the road once again, with a slew of shows lined up throughout 2023. With the Tennessee native having already released a handful of songs this year, such as ‘Daddy Don't Drink’ and ‘Try Texas’, fans are hoping a new album will soon be on the way.
