It's safe to say that if anybody has been making country ‘cool again’ over the past twelve months, then the credit has to go to the swaggering, chart-topping Lainey Wilson.
Aptly, the ‘Watermelon Moonshine’ hitmaker has teased a brand new song entitled ‘Country's Cool Again’. Lainey shared a clip of her singing the lively, upbeat track alongside her acoustic guitarist, coupled with the caption, ‘There must be something in the water...’
‘Country's Cool Again’ is an energising, light-hearted anthem that carries the same playfulness as fan-favourites such as ‘Hillbilly Hippie’, ‘Grease’ and ‘Hold My Halo’.
Lainey Wilson performed the song during her recent set at Colorado's Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and with the arrival of this new snippet, it seems the 2023 CMA Entertainer of the Year nominee is readying ‘Country's Cool Again’ for an immanent release.
Although Lainey Wilson has guested on a number of songs since she put out her acclaimed 2022 album, Bell Bottom Country, such as Lauren Alaina's ‘Thicc As Thieves’ and Jelly Roll's ‘Save Me’, Lainey is yet to release the first track from her follow-up record.
The Louisiana native's hotly anticipated project is expected to be released in early 2024, with Lainey Wilson having spoken this year about how the album will feature more ‘love songs’.
Despite the release date for ‘Country's Cool Again’ still being under wraps, one thing we can be certain of is the fact that any new music from Lainey Wilson is a surefire cause for celebration.
