Over the past six months, country-rap trailblazer, Jelly Roll, has emerged as one of the most innovative, idiosyncratic and exciting new voices in Nashville. Now, he's gearing up to release his hotly anticipated follow-up to 2021's Ballads Of The Broken.
The new record, entitled Whitsitt Chapel, will feature his most recent singles, ‘Need A Favor’ and ‘She’, which continue to earn Jelly Roll a rapidly growing fanbase.
Although the full tracklist is yet to be officially revealed, judging by the Whitsitt Chapel vinyls that Jelly Roll has made available on his website, it seems the new project will feature collaborations with Brantley Gilbert, Struggle Jennings, Yelawolf and Lainey Wilson.
Fans are particularly keen to hear Jelly Roll's song with Lainey Wilson, which appears to be called ‘Save Me’. Jelly Roll released a song with the same name back in 2020, which featured on the singer-songwriter's 2020 rap album, Self Medicated.
If Lainey Wilson has been involved in a revamped version of that same track, then it'll mark a fascinating foray into new sonic territory for the Bell Bottom Country star.
In early 2023, Jelly Roll's blockbuster hit single, ‘Son of a Sinner’, became the Tennessee native's first ever No. 1 at Country Radio. Whitsitt Chapel looks set to continue the religious imagery, with songs entitled ‘Hungover In A Church Pew’, ‘Dancing With The Devil’, ‘Church’ and ‘Halfway To Hell’ all included in the tracklist.
At the moment, Jelly Roll is getting ready to head out on his 2023 Backroad Baptism tour, which will take the artist across the US, and will feature a star-studded roster of support acts, including Ashley McBryde, Chase Rice, Elle King and more.
