When speaking to Katie Neal backstage at Audacy's Stars and Strings, HARDY teased the impending release of “a lot” of new music, as well as delving into his long-standing love of Post Malone.
HARDY will take the stage at Wednesday's CMA Awards ceremony for a highly anticipated medley of country classics alongside Morgan Wallen and Post Malone.
Katie Neal asked the ‘TRUCK BED’ songsmith about the blockbuster performance, and HARDY stressed that Posty is someone he's wanted to work with since he first got into music, “I’ve manifested this for years. Slight flex here, but I started following [Post Malone] when he had like 300,000 Instagram followers”.
He went on to explain that he's been a fan of Posty's since his earliest releases, “I was on the ‘White Iverson’ train, [I heard] the first thing that he ever put out and I was like, ‘This is dope,’ and I've been with him ever since...I just like what he’s done for Hip Hop and for Pop music - it’s just great. I’ve always said that from the very beginning”.
The Mississippi native has cited Post Malone as one of his ‘dream collaborations’ in a variety of past interviews, and with two of HARDY's closest friends, Morgan Wallen and Ernest, recently hitting the studio with Posty, it seems a country crossover featuring all four artists could hopefully be on the cards.
Elsewhere in his chat with Katie Neal, HARDY underlined that 2024 will feature plenty of new releases, as well as sharing that his upcoming album's title-track is already written, “Next year I’m gonna be putting out a lot of music...the next record is going to be the best [and] the coolest thing I think I've done so far. Trust me, the title-track off the next record is gonna be the coolest thing I've done so far. I guarantee it”.
HARDY tantalisingly shared that he'll be making an announcement soon regarding new music, with fans hoping this means his long-awaited Hixtape Vol. 3 project is on the horizon.
New music from HARDY is always cause for celebration, and we can't wait to hear how the country-rock maverick will follow up his acclaimed 2023 album, the mockingbird & THE CROW.
