Making your Grand Ole Opry debut is nothing short of a rite of passage in the world of country music, and after seven years of dropping and writing chart-topping songs, HARDY finally stepped into the hallowed circle for the very first time.

On Tuesday night (April 29), the genre-bending hitmaker sauntered up to the mic, simply saying, "What's up?," before offering up a performance of his just-released tune, 'Buck On The Wall.'

Exuding utter cool throughout the bulk of his four-song set, the Mississippi native had plenty of surprises up his sleeve though for what is usually a pretty straight-laced event.

Bringing out country golden girl Ella Langley to fill in for Lainey Wilson's half of his award-winning single, 'wait in the truck,' HARDY gave the crowd a performance that they won't soon forget. As their voices joined together in perfect harmony, the former tourmates–Langley served as support on HARDY's 2024 Quit!! Tour–had the Opry House waiting with bated breath, their rendition perhaps being even better than the original.

Going from one stride to another, the country-rocker played his new single to country radio, 'Favorite Country Song,' marking his first taste of country music since his full-length metal album, Quit!!, released in October of 2024.

In a showing of true class and utter showmanship, HARDY closed the evening with a solo acoustic rendition of 'Signed, Sober You,' one of the songwriter's oldest and best songs from across his discography, and you could practically hear a pin drop as the Opry House sat in hushed silence.

This wasn't technically the first time that HARDY has taken the coveted stage as he performed during the inaugural People's Choice Country Awards in 2023, and the reality is that an artist like him doesn't really need the notoriety that traditionally comes with playing the Opry stage.

As aforementioned, an artist's Opry debut has become a major milestone in anyone's neon-tinged career.

Yet, after seven years as one of the most in-demand songwriters in Music City, one of the most buzzed about entertainers of this era of country music and with multiple ACM, CMA and BMI Awards on his mantle, HARDY's Opry debut felt more like a private concert than the usual rigamarole and formality often seen on the historic stage.

HARDY will head out on his Jim Bob World Tour on May 22, keeping busy through the end of September as he weaves his way around the US, as well as into Europe and the UK.
