Hailey Whitters graced the stage at Atlantic City's TidalWave Festival 2023 on Saturday afternoon, delivering a stellar performance that consolidated the Iowa native's status as a future country star.
Attendees basked in the balmy New Jersey sunshine as Hailey Whitters rattled through her summery repertoire of uptempo classics. Fans were excited to hear the fast-emerging singer-songwriter play her recent single, ‘Tie'r Down’, and rest assured Hailey didn't disappoint, kicking off her hotly anticipated set with the new track.
It's always a tricky slot performing in the middle of the afternoon at a festival, with the post-hotdog slump often combining with a hazy, beer-induced sleepiness that can quickly turn into apathy.
However, from the moment Hailey Whitters launched into her opening track, a tangible sense of vitality and enthusiasm rippled through the crowd, and you can't help but feel it won't be too long before the country prodigy is deemed headlining material.
Stand-outs of Hailey's set included a selection of highlights from the singer-songwriter's acclaimed 2022 album, Raised, which was deservedly selected as Holler's Album of the Year, including the joyously playful ‘Fillin’ My Cup’ and the infectious ‘Plain Jane’
Nonetheless, the crowning glory of Hailey Whitters’ set was unquestionably her high-energy and unreservedly exuberant rendition of ‘Everything She Ain't’, which acted as the perfect set-closer. The light-hearted self-worth anthem remains Hailey's most successful song to date, having been certified Gold earlier in the year.
The 2023 edition of TidalWave is providing plenty of sizzling performances from some of country's biggest stars and fastest-rising newcomers as we celebrate the last days of summer.
After 2022's hell raising inaugural weekend, this year is racking up to once again be Atlantic City's new favorite country music festival, as we revel in performances from Lauren Watkins, MacKenzie Porter, Jelly Roll and Dustin Lynch who'll take the stage throughout the three-day beach bash.
