Hot off their spellbinding show in Toronto, Ontario, Riley Green and Ella Langley have shared a video of the two artists on their tour bus – and it’s not for the squeamish.
“What are you gonna do?!” Riley Green exclaims in half-mock, half-genuine fear as he puts his trust in Ella Langley, his wounded hand placed on the impromptu surgery table complete with kitchen roll and manicure scissors. “I’m gonna cut that off,” Langley quips, delicately holding Green’s palm and aiming the scissors at his injury.
As Langley carefully removes the excess skin from his blister, Green recounts the ‘story’ as to how it all happened, “A kid was tryna cross a street and I saw a car coming, so I went and grabbed him. The kid was holding a baby so I couldn’t push the kid out of the way, so I had to grab the kid. I caught the baby with this hand, but I fell, and I wanted to cradle…[moves arms to mimic cradling a baby] so I skinned this hand on the curb. But I saved their lives. And the baby was holding a box of kittens, so they all made it too.”
However, Langley’s laugh and disbelieving head-shake coupled with Green’s ‘#sportsinjury’ in the caption lead us to a slightly different conclusion – although Riley Green saving babies and kittens is undoubtedly a viral music video waiting to happen.
Green and Langley’s relationship has been under scrutiny for months as the pair navigate the ‘will they, won’t they’ media speculation. With conjecture building around their onstage relationship since the start of this tour, fans have been debating whether the pair still have chemistry - but this video sets it all straight. Green and Langley are just fine. They’re fun, they’re friendly and they’re still looking out for each other.
Riley Green has been teasing unreleased tracks via social media lately, and also paid tribute to country music icon Travis Tritt, so we're keeping our fingers crossed new music is on the way. Green's Damn Country Music Tour with Ella Langley continues through the summer, before he heads out on his European run in September.
