Despite having released a sprawling, 36-song album barely six months ago, fans are speculating that Morgan Wallen might have just teased a brand new song via his Instagram page.

It would be the first taste of new material from the ‘Last Night’ hitmaker since March's One Thing At A Time, which remains immovable at the business-end of the Billboard 200.

Taking to his socials on Tuesday night (September 12), Morgan Wallen shared a black-and-white photo taken from a recent tour-stop on his 2023 One Night At A Time run of shows.

He accompanied the image with what appear to be lyrics from an unreleased song, “You thought the grass was greener, now you’re in the weeds / You always were your own worst enemy”.

The ‘Everything I Love’ songsmith is widely known to be a Rap and Hip-Hop aficionado, and it seems Morgan Wallen is taking a leaf out of Drake's book, who regularly uses lyrics from upcoming songs as inspiration for his Instagram captions.

Fans immediately flooded the comments section with a flurry of calls for Morgan Wallen to release the song as soon as possible, with his good buddy and frequent collaborator, Ernest, seemingly stoking the flames by writing, “Shoulda gone on and stayed with it”.

Before making a surprise appearance during Ernest's recent WhiskeyFest performance in Nashville, the two artists were reportedly writing together backstage. Given how prolific Morgan Wallen is, it certainly wouldn't be surprising if his attention has already turned to his One Thing At A Time follow-up.

Another of Morgan Wallen's 2023 tour-mates, Bailey Zimmerman, also chimed in with a tongue-in-cheek comment regarding the suspected lyrics teaser, “Sounds like my last 4 relationships”.

After performing a live debut of ‘Me to Me’ in Illinois last week, Morgan Wallen is now gearing up for the highly anticipated Canadian leg of his 2023 tour, which kicks off in Toronto on September 14.
