Speaking to Holler, Larry Fleet discussed his dream collaboration, as well as sharing his favourite song from his newly released album, Earned It, which dropped today (Friday, September 1).

The new project features previously released singles, ‘Daddy Don't Drink’, ‘Try Texas’, ‘Layaway’ and ‘Young Buck’, along with never-heard-before tracks such as ‘Lord Willing’, ‘25-8’ and ‘There's A Waylon’.

Earned It serves as an in-depth and insightful exploration of the Tennessee native's current headspace, tackling topics that range from sobriety, family, faith, fatherhood and everything in between.

With the new project being so personal, Larry Fleet decided not to include any featured artists. However, having recently spent time on tour with big-name acts such as Morgan Wallen and Parker McCollum, fans have been wondering who Fleet will choose as his next collaborator.

The bearded crooner shared with Holler that his dream collaboration would be the genre-fusing maverick, Amos Lee, with Fleet underlining, “I love Amos Lee; I love his music and his style of songwriting. He does a lot of soulful, singer-songwriter stuff. Just a big fan”.

It's safe to say listeners would love to see Larry Fleet's soulful vocals blending with Amos Lee's inventive, folk-leaning sound. Another duet fans are hoping to hear is the studio recording of Larry Fleet and Morgan Wallen's collaborative version of ‘Where I Find God’.

Fleet recently revealed to Holler that he hopes to give the track an official streaming release at some point in the future, and we hope this will arrive sooner rather than later.

In addition to discussing the prospect of new duets, Larry Fleet opened up about his favourite song on Earned It. With 21 tracks to choose from, narrowing down your top choice is undoubtedly a challenge for listeners, and it was even harder for the artist himself.

However, Fleet ultimately opted for ‘Muddy Water’, which originally premiered on Holler, with a live rendition appearing on the singer-songwriter's celebrated 2022 project, Live Sessions, Vol. 1.

When asked about his favourite offering from Earned It, Larry Fleet emphasised, “That's hard, but probably ‘Muddy Water’. I've always grown up around muddy water and never realised how much of an impact it’s had on my life. Whether it be fishing and swimming on a lake in that water or getting baptised in the river...it’s always been part of moments that have meant a lot in my life”.

With the full Earned It album out in the world at long last, it's now up to fans themselves to delve into the evocative, expansive record and select their own favourite tracks - and rest assured there are plenty of stellar offerings to choose from.
