Ella Langley has been open throughout the past few months about how much she has leant on the guidance and support of her fellow female artists, such as Miranda Lambert and Lainey Wilson. While discussing her 2026 album, Dandelion, Langley pays tribute to Lambert, Wilson and others who she says “saved my life” in 2025.

Langley stepped away from touring last summer to focus on her mental health, with the Alabama native being candid during the rollout for Dandelion about how she was finding it difficult to contend with her meteoric rate of success and her gruelling schedule.

In a conversation with iHeartRadio, Langley reflects, “Yeah, I mean, no matter what you do, I think it's important to find the people that love you in this life, and that kind of get you in that way. I've always struggled with my mental health, it's just always been a part of who I am and I think it's part of why I do what I do. But with this job, I knew that would be the thing I kind of struggle with the most”.

The ‘Choosin’ Texas’ singer-songwriter goes on to recall how all the anxieties came to a head, “And last year, being nominated for the eight ACMs, walking in for the first [time] - I wasn't even invited to the dang place the year before, you know? And I don't know, it just rocked my world. And touring so heavily and watching what ‘you look like you love me’ was doing, and you know, just [being] like, ‘Oh my gosh, it's happening. But do I deserve this? I can't believe this is happening so fast’”.

Langley underlines that it was thanks to a handful of women in country music that she was able to make it through that testing period of time, “Having Miranda there and Lainey and a lot of other women, Gretchen Wilson, Jo Dee Messina, who were just constantly there for me...There's not a rule-book to this job, and there's really only people's stories to get you through. Like, ‘Oh this is normal? I should feel this insane?’ And I think just having somebody else say like, ‘Yeah, that's 100% how I felt, this is how it feels, and it's okay to feel like you're head is spinning off a rocker every day because that's just the journey you're on right now, and one day it'll slow down’...Yeah, having that saved me, saved my life last year”.

Langley, who has become increasingly open about her faith in recent months, shares how she has no doubt that Lambert's friendship was divinely-ordained, “I know God did that on purpose, 100%, put Miranda in my life to get me through that specifically”.

Lambert in particular was a key collaborator throughout the creation of Dandelion, with the Texas legend acting as a producer and a co-writer across a host of tracks, including the record-breaking, ‘Choosin’ Texas’. Lambert also appears on ‘Butterfly Season’, a song that - aptly - celebrates a new chapter of rebirth and growth.

Similarly, Langley asked Wilson to present her with her Billboard Powerhouse Award earlier in the year, with the latter paying tribute to Langley's talent and to the importance of leading women in country music showing up and supporting one another.

With many still attempting to pit female artists against one another, it's heartening to see such vehement and frequent shows of love from some of the biggest names in the genre. It's clear that, rather than trying to get one up on or outperform each other, they are helping one another to become the best versions of themselves.

Which means that we, as fans, benefit, because they're making the best music they can. We're excited to see Langley's ascent continue, as she notches yet another week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with her Song of the Summer-candidate, ’Choosin‘ Texas’, while her fellow female artists continue to dominate, too.
