Ella Langley's chart topping 'Choosin Texas' has spent yet another glorious week at the top of Billboard's prestigious Hot 100 chart, while Morgan Wallen's 'Been By Now' falls closely behind at No. 2.

Released in the fall of 2025 and later marking its place at number 1 in February of 2026, Langley's worldwide hit has spent the summer breaking records both in and outside of the track's country genre, catapulting Langley into stages of her career not yet seen since her breakout in 2024.

Miranda Lambert, Faith Hill, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey - you name it, these are just some of the female sensations Langley has placed herself next to in the current weeks through award winning and chart soaring.

However, it has been mentioned who will step to the throne of who, in many respects, is to be considered the greatest country artist of the decade - Morgan Wallen.

Comparable to an accomplishment such as Langley's most recent is, broadly speaking, Wallen's most recent hot 100 place holders such as hits from his 2025 I'm The Problem album, as well as hits such as Last Night, which spent a similar 16 weeks at No. 1 when released as a single from the songster's One Thing At A Time album.

Aside from breaking charts and regular worldwide takeover, what makes the two singles by Langley and Wallen comparable is their similar, but in many ways, different ways of showcasing credibility in their long time runs.

When Wallen announced his release of 'Been By Now,' foreseeing the future success of the track wasn't difficult for any fan that had been paying close attention - after the massive success of his I'm The Problem album, followed by his continuing 2026 Still The Problem tour, a new single from the 'I Got Better' hitmaker feels rather strategic, and in many ways, an immediate chart soarer as any song from the megastar would be.

While Wallen's immediate success with 'Been By Now' feels almost rightful and earned throughout the course of his career, Langley's whirlwind success with 'Choosin Texas' was earned in a way that signified the now extremely small part of her career that is still in development. With the track gaining that worldwide momentum nearly four months after its release, the hit has stood the test of time over the past weeks - and now, put up against no other than Morgan Wallen, 'Choosin Texas' remains unshaken.

The year of Langley's success speaks louder now more than ever, with the star proving yet again why she is a realistic challenger for Wallen's place as the biggest country artist of the decade - all while the two have been lifting each other higher into their careers with their collaboration 'I Can't Love You Anymore' firmly planting itself at no. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, making Wallen and Langley the first country pair to place both individual songs and a collaboration in the chart's top five.
