Since announcing he'd signed with Big Loud Records earlier in the year, fans have been practically glued to Charles Wesley Godwin’s Spotify and Apple Music homepage, in the hope that his hotly anticipated new album may soon appear.
Although the official release date and title for his How The Mighty Fall follow-up is still under wraps, we've been treated to a brand new song teaser from the West Virginia songsmith.
The new snippet, entitled ‘Willing and Able’, finds the soulful crooner letting his soothing, otherworldly vocals rip across the mellow, reflective strum of his trusty acoustic guitar.
Although much of the track follows in the stripped-back, wistful tone that we've grown accustomed to with Charles, towards the end of the ballad he shifts through the gears and builds out the hook into a fierce, half-roared crescendo.
Charles sings from the loneliness of the road to his wife, as he emphasises that he'll go to any lengths in order to be with her as soon as possible, underlining that “any train or bus will do”.
We're hoping ‘Willing and Able’ will make the cut when it comes to narrowing down the tracklist for Charles Wesley Godwin's upcoming major label debut. However, it's safe to say this latest unreleased track will have plenty of competition, with Charles having teased a plethora of new music over the past few months, including ‘Miner Imperfections’, ‘Gabriel’, ‘The Flood‘ and ‘Dance in Rain’.
