Blake Shelton's latest single, 'Texas', is currently sitting pretty atop the UK Country Radio Airplay Chart, having jumped from its previous position at No. 4 to the top spot.
For the frame dated Jan. 24 - Jan. 30, the infectious hit earned an impressive 845,388 impressions across 108 plays. After 11 weeks spent steadily rising in the ranks, it's a well-deserved No. 1 for the hitmaker.
'Texas' is Shelton's first new single release in over two years and his first under the care of a new label, having left his longtime home at Warner Music Nashville to sign with BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville last fall. The tune, in sound and substance, is unmistakably a new era for the longtime star, a fresh chapter that seems set to usher in even more No. 1s for Shelton.
Elsewhere on the UK Country Radio Airplay Chart, Drew Baldridge's 'Tough People', Jordan Davis' 'I Ain't Sayin'', Lainey Wilson's '4x4xU' and Shaboozey's 'Good News' are presently occupying the No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 spots, respectively, rounding out the list's Top 5.
One of the week's biggest moves was seen by the latter. Shaboozey's 'Good News' soared from its previous position at No. 31 into the Top 5, boasting a 93 percent increase on the radio ranking. Ella Langley's 'weren't for the wind' and Ashley McBride's 'Ain't Enough Cowboy Songs' are also both enjoying big jumps up the chart this week.
