Following his surprise departure from Warner Music Nashville earlier in the month, Blake Shelton has been unveiled as the latest signing to BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville.
The announcement comes just weeks after Blake Shelton's exit from Warner Music Nashville - his label home for more than two decades - was confirmed in a heartfelt statement.
Jon Loba, President, Frontline Recordings, Americas, BMG underlined his excitement at the prospect of working with Blake Shelton as he writes the next chapter in his storied career, “Blake is one of the biggest personalities and presences in media. America first got to know him through incredible, timeless songs and live shows and then fell in love with him and his sense of humor through TV”.
After nodding to Blake Shelton's high-profile role as a judge on The Voice USA for 23 seasons, Loba tantalisingly hinted that Blake has a few releases up his sleeve, “We are so excited he’s joining the BMG Global family and cannot wait to share his incredible new music with the world. He’s been laser-focused on delivering some of the best of his career and it shows. We have been dancing through the office, literally not just figuratively, since we heard the first couple songs he played for us!”
Blake Shelton echoed Loba's sentiments, emphasising how the right decision was clear early on, “A huge thanks to Jon, Peter, JoJamie, Katie, and the BMG family for being as excited as me about this new chapter we will write together. I felt their passion and love for music when I met with them, and I knew I was home. I am READY TO GO!"
The Oklahoma singer-songwriter is currently in the Top Ten at Country Radio courtesy of his infectious Post Malone collaboration, ‘Pour Me a Drink’, which sits at No. 6 on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart and No. 2 on the Mediabase Country Chart.
Next year is already shaping up to be another busy twelve months for Blake Shelton, with the ‘Austin’ crooner kicking off his colossal ‘Live In Las Vegas’ Residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace and his Friends and Heroes tour in February 2025.
