Morgan Wallen is the first name to have been placed on the 2024 Carolina Country Music Fest line-up

, taking over the sunny shores of Myrtle Beach from June 6-9. 

Filling out the 2024 headlining quartet for Carolina Country Music Fest are Parker McCollum, Carrie Underwood and 2023 CMA Group of the Year winners, Old Dominion. 

Attendees will be treated to a set of smoldering hits from Parker McCollum, which likely include several cuts from his 2023 record, 

, as well as other dearly beloved chart-toppers.

Similarly, it's no secret that Underwood has a 

 at her disposal, meaning fans will be able to scream along to her two decades worth of career-making tunes and modern day country standards during the stacked 2024 weekend.

Also slated to play across the celebrated weekend will be seasoned trio Lady A, illustrious singer-songwriter Megan Moroney and overnight sensation Oliver Anthony.

, Wallen's rise to country's upper echelons has been meteoric - but one that has not been without its fair share of controversies, which have at times threatened to transform this unprecedented ascent into a tumultuous collision course. 

 during the playoffs in 2014, Wallen released his 

EP, which paved the way for a recording contract with Big Loud Records. Following this, Morgan Wallen's 2018 debut album, 

, spawned hits such as ‘Chasin' You’, ‘Whiskey Glasses’ and the rowdy, party-starting Florida Georgia Line collaboration, ‘Up Down’. 

 helped to solidify Wallen's mercurial blending of lyrical, lovelorn balladry with his playful, down-home charm. 

Wallen's sonic dirt-road was concretised in January 2021 when he released 

. Totalling 30 songs, the project capitalised on the songwriting prowess of Wallen himself, alongside frequent collaborators such as HARDY, Ernest and Ben Burgess. Numerous songs from the album have since gone multi-platinum, such as ‘More Than My Hometown’, ‘Wasted On You’, ‘7 Summers’ and ‘Sand In My Boots’.

In February that year, Wallen was suspended from his label after being filmed using a racial slur. This followed a series of controversies in 2020, which included Wallen being arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct, as well as being dropped from 

 after violating social distancing guidelines. 

went on to break a number of records, becoming the longest-running top ten album on the Billboard 200 since the chart began. The project has also spent more time at Number One on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart than any any other album in the chart's history. 

In 2022, Morgan Wallen won the ACM Award for Album of the Year, which built on the success of his 2021 Billboard Music Awards for Top Country Artist and Top Country Album. Wallen is also a past recipient of the CMA New Artist of the Year. 

In October 2022, Wallen wrapped up his country-spanning 

tour, during the course of which the Tennessee hitmaker played to over 800,000 fans. As he closed out his final show, his 2022 single, ‘You Proof’, was confirmed as his seventh Number One at country radio.

On March 3 2023, Morgan Wallen released his new album, 

, featuring hit singles such as ‘Thought You Should Know’, ‘Last Night’ and more. The 36-song project continues to set new streaming records, and is being accompanied by 2023 world tour, which will take Wallen across the US, Australia, New Zealand and the UK.

Hailing from Sneedville, Tennessee, Morgan Cole Wallen has quickly become one of the most decorated artists in modern country.

Carrie Underwood’s career might’ve started much earlier had things gone a different way. At age 14, she auditioned for Capitol Records in Nashville. The label was going to offer her a contract, but that deal fell through when they changed management.

Underwood returned to Oklahoma, finished high school and later graduated from Northeastern State University. Things took a turn for the singer in 2004, when she auditioned for American Idol. Despite a shy start on the show, she would go on to become the season four winner, with a powerful voice that enraptured audiences around the globe.

But not every American Idol winner goes on to make such a big splash. Underwood’s first official single ‘Inside Your Heaven’ landed at the top spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 list, making her the first country artist to debut at number one. 

She released her debut album Some Hearts in 2005 and by 2006 she’d earned the Top Female Vocalist of the Year at the CMAs and ACM Awards. Her second album Carnival Ride arrived in 2007, the same year she won Best New Artist at the Grammys. 

Given Underwood’s popularity in country music, she began co-hosting the CMA Awards with country singer Brad Paisley, serving that role for 12 years. As she continued releasing new music, Underwood also starred as Maria in NBC’s live version of The Sound of Music.

When she released her fifth studio album Storyteller in 2015, Underwood became the first country artist who debuted all of her albums at either the first or second spot on the Billboard 200. 

In addition to her commercial success, which includes major headlining tours, and ongoing critical acclaim, Underwood has won several Grammys for her music. In 2020, she published her first book, Find Your Path, and released her eighth studio album My Savior in 2021.

In 2022, Parker McCollum won the ACM Award for New Male Artist of the Year. In the same year, McCollum went on to release ‘Handle On You’ and ‘Stoned’, two singles that once again zeroed in on his hypnotic, brooding brand of country.

When you first see Parker McCollum emerge onto the stage, donning a white t-shirt, a thin gold chain and his trusty snapback, you might assume that he’s attempting to instigate a Bro-Country revival.

Kelley knew Haywood from middle school and convinced him to move to Nashville, where they began performing with Scott as Lady Antebellum. 

Their country-pop meets country-rock sound and tremendous harmonies landed them a contract and a self-titled debut album in 2008. Lady A began touring with Martina McBride, opening for the famed singer and building their fanbase. 

Their first album led to them winning New Artist of the Year at the CMAs in 2008 and later taking home the award for Vocal Group of the Year in 2009.  

From that early start, their output remained not just steady but almost non-stop. The group released five albums in five years: 

in 2021. Lady A were also inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2021. 

While Lady A had performed as Lady Antebellum for most of their career, they announced, in 2020, that they'd be changing their name to Lady A in response to the George Floyd protests and the racist connotations of "antebellum".

Before Megan Moroney stormed onto the charts with the infectious, endearing ‘Tennessee Orange’, country football anthems were traditionally associated with the muscled-up, beer-chugging bro-country scene. 

Moroney's sweet tale of a forbidden, star-crossed romance between a Tennessee Volunteers fan and a Georgia Bulldogs supporter went viral in 2022, and in doing so, announced the artist to the world. 

Although the song's success was helped by its muse - a certain country megastar, Morgan Wallen - this shouldn't detract from ‘Tennessee Orange’’s standalone status as a certified earworm with wonderfully intricate and witty songwriting construction. 

The Georgia native's musical journey was kickstarted by the 2021 single, ‘Wonder’, which Moroney penned after being booked to open for Chase Rice during her freshman year at University, and being told she needed at least one original song in her set. 

The following year, she released the six-song 

 EP. The EP showcased Moroney's conversational charm and her ability to find lyrics that speak to the younger generation, but that still feel timeless and unquestionably country. 

‘Hair Salon’ quickly became a fan-favourite, and on February 11, Megan Moroney performed the small-town ballad during her Grand Ole Opry debut, alongside ‘Tennessee Orange’. 

Many have tipped the country prodigy to enjoy a stellar year, with Moroney currently readying her debut album, which will feature both ‘Tennessee Orange’ and her playful, tongue-in-cheek February 2023 single, ‘I'm Not Pretty’. 

Underlining her position at the forefront of contemporary country, Spotify named Megan Moroney as one of their 2023 Country Artists to Watch, while CMT included her in their prestigious Next Women of Country 2023 group. Additionally, Holler featured Megan Moroney as one of its 23 New Artists for 2023.
