Christmas time is here! For those of us who haven’t had the best of years we’re all hoping for a possible change in fortunes before we finally declare 2023 a complete write off.

It seems like American Blonde have been holding out for a treat too, although it isn’t the usual Christmas bonus they’ve got their hearts set on.

“Don’t care if Santa Claus is coming to town / Old Blitzen, he can sit this one out,” they sing on their brand-new holiday original. “But maybe Cupid could help us get this off the ground.”

"I have always wanted to write a Christmas song,” Nata from the band told us. “It’s our favorite holiday, and Tinka and I always thought it would be so cool to release our own original Christmas song for fans to enjoy through the holiday season!”

“So, I called my main co-writer, Jimmy Nash, and shared some ideas. We loved the thought of someone only wishing for one thing this Christmas - a kiss from someone they have fallen for for quite some time! The song holds some truth because my fiancé and I started out as just childhood friends, so I channelled those feelings I felt when I started falling hard for him, not knowing that he secretly liked me as more than a friend, too!”

“The creative process for 'Kiss Me This Christmas' was so magical,” Nata says. “We worked with our dear friend Catt Gravit, who produced the track as well as pulled in GRAMMY® winning musician, Ilya Toshinskiy, to take the musical creative lead. There were jingle bells, Santa hats, and an overall happy, cheery vibe for our first Christmas song! This song is fun, playful, and cheery, setting the perfect tone for a cheeky Christmas tune!"

Raised in the Mississippi Delta, the band slap their southern spirit all over this delightfully joyful festive ditty and bring us some much needed good tidings to kick off the Christmas season.

Released last month, the song now has a suitably Christmassy video directed by Logen Christopher to go along with it and it’s the Christmassiest thing we’ve seen since Mel Smith and Kim Wilde made ‘Rocking Around the Christmas Tree.’

"The music video is playful, happy, and fun,” the band laugh. “With friends dancing, puppies running around, and guitars rockin’ in a Christmas party setting, this video perfectly captures the anticipation of wanting that kiss from someone special on Christmas day!"

The video for ‘Kiss Me This Christmas' is premiering exclusively at Holler below.
