Dan + Shay have released their new song ‘Glad You Exist’.

The duo, who released ‘From The Ground Up’ exactly five years ago today, have released their latest track as a message of gratitude and hope.

The duo wrote on instagram “A message to everyone in our lives: our fans, our friends, our families, to remind them all how grateful we are to be on the planet at the same time. It’s truly remarkable when you think about it”.

Shay Mooney and musical partner, Dan Smyers, co-wrote the track with Ryan Lewis, Tayla Parx and Jordan Reynolds.

The track begins with a simple acoustic guitar, before building up into a pop-infused chorus that is littered with catchy melodies.

The duo had just begun an arena tour in March 2020 when they were forced to cancel due to Covid.

“We've spent the majority of the past year, like many others, searching for answers and a sense of normalcy, but finding comfort in memories of better days” the pair said, adding that ‘Glad You Exist’ took on a new meaning after the events of the last year.

The song follows a string a successful chart-topping singles, the latest being ’10,000 Hours’ and ‘I Should Probably Go to Bed’.

The pair are expected to include this latest release on their next record and they are going to resume touring in September.
