2023 continues to strengthen its case as one of the most significant years for country music fans in recent memory.
Almost every member of the genre's pantheon of modern-day titans has dropped or is preparing to drop a brand new album - and now, it appears another of country's biggest names, Chris Stapleton, is looking to join in on all the fun.
The much-loved Kentucky crooner is gearing up to release his fifth studio album, Higher, on November 10 2023. The eagerly awaited project is now available to pre-order, with the fiery lead single, ‘White Horse’, having been released immediately on all platforms. More recently, Stapleton dropped the infectious, uptempo ‘Think I'm In Love With You’ and the slow-burning ballad, ‘It Takes A Woman’.
Higher will feature 14 songs in total, including an array of never-heard-before offerings, such as ‘What Am I Gonna Do’, ‘South Dakota’ and ‘Mountains Of My Mind’.
In addition, the upcoming record will feature the fan-favourite unreleased track, ‘Crosswind’, which the ‘Tennessee Whiskey’ hitmaker performed during a recent show in Des Moines, Iowa as part of his hugely popular 2023 All-American Roadshow tour.
Another previously teased song, ‘It Takes A Woman’, has at long last made its way onto a Stapleton album, with the soulful singer-songwriter having first shared the unreleased anthem back in 2013.
Given the electricity that courses through Higher's lead single, ‘White Horse’, it's safe to say expectations are sky-high for Chris Stapleton's upcoming record. We're holding out hope that he drops another track or two in the coming weeks in order to keep the sense of anticipation soaring ahead of the November release.
