Patty Loveless joined Chris Stapleton on stage at the 2022 56th Annual CMA Awards to perform 'You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive'.

Stapleton, who won the 2022 award for Male Vocalist of the Year, brought the five-time CMA Award winner on stage with his bandmate/wife Morganne for a pin-drop performance of the song, taken from Loveless' 2001 album Mountain Soul.

Celebrating their shared home state of Kentucky, the live collaboration follows their appearance at October's Kentucky Rising concert, a star-studded fundraising event for flood relief.

Following his win, Chris Stapleton is now the fifth most-awarded artist in CMA Awards history - trailing Brooks & Dunn, Vince Gill, Alan Jackson and George Strait. He has now won more Male Vocalist of the Year Awards than any other artist.

The 56th Annual CMA Awards were hosted by Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday, November 10th on ABC.

Acts including Luke Combs, Brothers Osborne, Brandy Clark, Caylee Hammack, Cody Johnson, Elle King, Ashley McBryde, Reba McEntire, John Osborne, Pillbox Patti, Cole Swindell, The Black Keys, The War and Treaty and Thomas Rhett were also among the night's performances.
