Two of the most exciting new artists in country music, Zach Top and Ella Langley, teamed up during Whiskey Jam's 1,000-show anniversary show to perform ’Sounds Like the Radio’.
The gloriously traditional-leaning offering is one of the many highlights from Zach's stellar debut album, Cold Beer & Country Music, which also spawned the viral smash, ‘I Never Lie’.
With the addition of Ella Langley, who is no stranger to viral hits herself, with the Riley Green-assisted ‘You Look Like You Love Me’ blossoming into one of the biggest songs of the year, Zach Top's live rendition of ’Sounds Like the Radio’ at Whiskey Jam was given an extra sheen of significance to match the special milestone occasion.
Ella Langley's charisma and swagger accentuated the playfulness of ‘Sounds Like the Radio’, with Langley's vocals combining seamlessly with Zach Top's unmistakable, enchanting twang.
Elsewhere during the show, which marked the 1,000th Whiskey Jam event since its inception in January 2011, attendees were treated to electrifying performances from the likes of Dierks Bentley, Dasha, Dylan Marlowe, Alana Springsteen and many more.
Whiskey Jam's founder, Ward Guenther, paid tribute to how far they've come, “When Whiskey Jam started, it was all about getting together with friends to share our music in an exceptionally fun environment. It’s grown in ways we never could have imagined and that’s really a testament to our incredible and supportive creative community”.
During his performance, Zach Top toasted the ongoing impact of Whiskey Jam as an instrumental platform for up-and-coming country artists, “The first time I played Whiskey Jam…I got a record deal out of it. Thank you to Ward and everybody that helped put this thing on for giving artists like me – and everybody who’s been on this stage tonight – a chance to come out and play a show. It’s been a success story for a lot of artists and the folks here tonight are a representation of that”.
Whiskey Jam has helped to produce an array of success stories. During its 13-year run so far, Whiskey Jam alumni have collectively earned a staggering 450 No. 1 Songs, 129 ACM Awards, 92 CMA Awards, 36 Grammy Awards and 10 Grand Ole Opry Inductions.
