Shortly after confirming his album is “about half done”, Zach Bryan has taken to his socials to tease a new song snippet, which appears to have been penned for his girlfriend, Brianna LaPaglia.
The new clip finds Zach Bryan crooning wistfully alongside a lively, energising piano riff, with the Oklahoma singer-songwriter exploring a more uplifting tone compared to recent releases.
This song serves as a departure from the brooding, subdued ambience that pervaded Zach's widely acclaimed 2023 self-titled album, which has spawned hits such as the Hot 100 chart-topping, Kacey Musgraves-assisted ‘I Remember Everything’.
In the snippet, Zach Bryan sings, “You know the time goes / Right out the window” before encouraging his lover to make the most of the moments they have together.
Zach delivers the evocative lines, “So pack the car while the creeks runnin’ / We’ll cast a line while the dawns coming”, with the ‘Something in the Orange’ hitmaker then offering a self-deprecating explanation as to why he's fortunate enough to be loved by Brianna.
The folk-leaning country star endearingly croons, “I reckon God is a funny man / For putting beauty in these ugly hands / I don't understand / Yeah, I reckon God is a funny man”.
This snippet arrives around a week after Zach Bryan revealed his upcoming album is “about half done”, with Zach then qualifying this by underlining, “depending on the writing side who knows [when it'll come out], God willing as soon as possible”. Zach also shared that his favourite song from the project is called ‘The Great American Bar Scene’, with many fans speculating this could be the record's title-track.
With fans taking to the comments to heap praise on Zach Bryan's intricate love-song for Brianna, we're hoping this will convince the prolific songsmith to include it on the new album.
