Hometown hero Wyatt Flores returned to Stillwater, Oklahoma on Monday evening (October 7) for a special headline show hosted by Spotify as part of their Homegrown series.

Making the most of the opportunity to return to his home state, Flores packed out the 8000-capacity Tumbleweed Dance Hall and Concert Arena for a show filled with debuts of unreleased songs, special covers and fan-favourite hits.

Flores' return was not the only celebration that the Oklahoma crowd were in the mood for. With the recent announcement that cult favourites Cross Canadian Ragweed would be reuniting for shows next year, it seemed the pertinent time for a cover. Flores and his band had this in hand, delivering a rollicking performance of the group's fan-favourite 'Alabama' to the coors-light aloft crowd.

In the mood to celebrate some of the inspirations and influences that have led to him to the stage, Flores peppered his set with covers of Sturgill Simpson's 'I Don't Mind' and Jason Isbell's 'Traveling Alone'. If there's two artists that Flores has shown to possess the same creative endeavour and lyrical candidness as, it's them.

The event also offered an opportunity for Flores to share new music - particularly previously unplayed songs from his forthcoming debut album, Welcome To The Plains. Having ran through a 12-song set, Flores closed out the main portion of the performance with the first ever live playthrough of 'Stillwater', another fitting moment from a night that offered great serendipity.

Never one to play the same show twice, there's such vigour and vibrancy to each song Flores and his band play. From rapturous singalongs of beloved covers to live debuts of songs from his forthcoming debut album, the crowd lapped up everything being graciously handed to them.

Closing out with a 1,2 salvo of new favourite 'Don't Want To Say Goodnight' and the immediate classic 'West of Tulsa', Flores showed just why everyone is getting so excited about the young wrangler from Okie with his heartfelt and emotional acoustic-country songs.
