In a heartwarming new Instagram Story, Zach Bryan has paid homage to his friend of over a decade and longstanding band-member, J.R. Carroll, as the latter celebrates his birthday.
The ’Dawns’ hitmaker has toasted his buddy, donning J.R. Carroll “one of my oldest and closest friends. Happy birthday and I love you. The things we've been through are incomparable. Here's to another ten years of good smokes and bus songs”.
Alongside a photo seemingly taken early on in their friendship, Zach Bryan has endearingly underlined his dedication to J.R. Carroll, stressing that he “would do anything for ya”.
J.R. Carroll has been a part of Zach Bryan's band for the entirety of the ‘Something in the Orange’ chart-topper's evolution into one of the biggest artists in modern music, with Bryan regularly championing Carroll's artistry while on-stage.
J.R. Carroll dropped his debut solo record, the Americana-leaning Dark Cloud, in December, with fans and critics heralding the project for its depth, sparseness and emotionality.
Listeners will no doubt be hoping they'll be able to hear J.R. Carroll's celebrated guitar skills on Zach Bryan's forthcoming album, which is believed to be titled Motorbreath. Bryan shared an introduction to the project's accompanying film, delivered by Matthew McConaughey, during which the Hollywood star explains that the record was captured during a two-week motorcycle ride with friends.
We assume J.R. Carroll was part of this trip, with Zach Bryan regularly sharing snippets of new music performed acoustically with Carroll, so we think we can look forward to some more stellar collaborative tracks on Bryan's eagerly awaited next album. The project is expected to feature the recently released single, ‘Blue Jean Baby’.
