Our old friend Zach Bryan seemed to be pretty busy over the weekend as his beloved Philadelphia Eagles punched their ticket to the 2025 Super Bowl, resulting in the fulfillment of his promise for new music.
What's more, though, is that the Oklahoma native also teased a new snippet of a song called "Always Willin'."
As ever featuring just Bryan and his trusty acoustic guitar, his rich croon rings out across the simple chord progression as he sings: "When I was leavin' your house, you told me to be careful / There's some dark, dark deserts under Arizona sky."
Pulling on these Arizonan influences and making reference to the picturesque desert towns abounding across the arid landscape, he continues: "Sedona don't own you or owe you a damn thing / And you've always got somewhere else on your mind / Like somewhere that'll care and maybe treat you fair."
Continuing to paint vivid portraits of desolate lands and far off places, Bryan all but pleads for understanding, though it's hard to tell from this short snippet just what for.
"And I know that I'm hellbent and always will be / But at leasy God knows I was always willin' / At least God knows I was always willin'," he offers.
As mentioned the new sneak peak of music to come follows the release of the long-teased single, ‘Blue Jean Baby,’ thanks to the commanding 55-23 win by the Philadelphia Eagles over the Washington Commanders.
Described as a "half song" that he built out of a demo teased back in September 2023, the new song also arrived with the exciting news that Bryan will be releasing an "EP and album by the end of the year."
While virtually nothing is known yet about his forthcoming sixth studio effort, besides it being his final project through Warner Records, we can only hope that the newly-teased "Always Willin'" will find its way into the track list, alongside 2024 singles 'High Road,' 'This World's A Giant' and the newest 'Blue Jean Baby.'
