Wyatt Flores is now one of the leading lights in the contemporary Red Dirt country scene, with the Oklahoma singer-songwriter widely tipped as one of the genre's next big stars.

Back when the ‘Holes’ prodigy was still relatively unknown, Wyatt Flores received a co-sign from one of the current biggest stars in country music, Zach Bryan, when the ‘Something in the Orange’ hitmaker heartwarmingly called up his fellow Oklahoma native.

In the endearing clip, which was shared by Wyatt Flores back in 2020 - when the up-and-comer hadn't even released any music yet - Zach Bryan watches on through the phone, as one of Wyatt's friends videos him performing Zach's ‘Oklahoma City’.

Wyatt Flores’ evocative, sinuous vocals shine throughout the brief acoustic performance, perhaps hinting at what was to come, with Zach visibly moved by Wyatt's take on his track.

‘Oklahoma City’ is one of the many stand-outs from Zach Bryan's widely lauded 2022 studio album, American Heartbreak, but was previously released as a single in 2020.

Zach Bryan's new record, The Great American Bar Scene, is challenging Taylor Swift's The Tortured Poets Department for the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200, with Zach continuing to establish himself as one of the most popular artists across all genres. Nonetheless, back in 2020, Zach still only really had a cult following after the success of his first two albums, DeAnn and Elisabeth, with American Heartbreak marking the moment he truly ascended into a modern-day megastar.

Given that Zach Bryan was still on the rise and had not yet reached the upper echelon of country music, as he has today, the fact that he took the time to reach out and offer his support to an aspiring musician, Wyatt Flores, speaks to Zach's persistent willingness to showcase and elevate artists across the genre - as is highlighted on The Great American Bar Scene, with his Noeline Hofmann duet, ‘Purple Gas’.

We're still waiting for Wyatt Flores and Zach Bryan to link up on a track - and judging by Wyatt's cover in this grainy old video, we're sure they'd sound fantastic together.
