The tracklist for Tyler Childers’ eagerly awaited new album, Rustin’ in the Rain, has been revealed via Spotify's Indigo playlist.
When listening to Tyler's new song, ’In Your Love’, on the country-inspired playlist, Spotify's accompanying visuals reveal the full tracklist for the Kentucky songsmith's upcoming album.
The hotly anticipated project, which is set to be released on September 8 2023, will consist of seven songs, including the previously shared single, ‘In Your Love’. Joining ‘In Your Love’ will be two fan-favourite unreleased tracks, ‘Space and Time’ and ‘Percheron Mules’.
Also set to feature on Rustin’ in the Rain’ is ‘Luke 2:8-10’, a song that Tyler spoke about in his recent interview with NPR, during which he also delved into the project's recurring theme of ‘mules’.
Tyler Childers explained, “There's a Christmas song, based on Luke 2:8-10: Now there were shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flocks by night. And then this sentient being popped out the sky and said, "Don't be afraid". And everybody said OK? The song's about the shepherd looking up and just being scared to death”.
In addition, ‘Phone Calls and Emails’, the title-track and what appears to be a cover of Sammi Smith's iconic 70's single, ‘Help Me Make It Through The Night’, will all be included on Rustin’ in the Rain.
Although the artist himself is yet to confirm the seven-song tracklist, with Spotify's official Hot Country page having teased a Tyler-related announcement earlier in the day, it seems the revelation is legitimate and was planned in tandem with his team.
