“You are Amazing and I am a Huge Fan”: See Noah Kahan's Heartwarming Response to Avery Anna's Audition to Perform with Him

They say you miss 100% of the shots you don't take - and, as Avery Anna just found out, sometimes it pays off being courageous. Last night (Monday, September 29th), the ‘Indigo’ hitmaker shared a video of her performing Noah Kahan's ‘Your Needs, My Needs’, in the hope the folk titan would ask her to sing it with him.

Anna opens the video by poking fun at herself for auditioning to perform with Kahan in this way, before stressing how influential the ‘Stick Season’ crooner has been on her.

She modestly explains, “This video is for Noah Kahan. You probably have zero clue who I am, but I've been a big fan of yours for a really long time, and...I'm playing on your day on REDWEST [Festival] in Utah, and this is my audition to sing with you at the show. I know festivals are crazy, so chances are slim, but even if you just see this video and know who I am, that would be great. I know all of your songs. So if this did happen - by slight chance - if this did actually end up happening, I can sing any of them with you, and I love to harmonize. So this is my pitch...”

Naturally, with this being Avery Anna, her performance of ‘Your Needs, My Needs’ is spellbinding, opening with a raw, intricate delivery before exploding into a part-screamed, part-roared rendition of Noah Kahan's angsty, electrifying hook. Across her recent material, Anna has made a point of blurring the lines between vulnerable, piano-driven balladry and fiery, rock-tinged anthems, making ‘Your Needs, My Needs’ the perfect song choice for the fast-emerging artist.

After waiting the best part of a day before hearing back, you could forgive Anna if her shoulders had dropped and she'd started to wonder if Kahan would never see the video.

But thankfully, the ‘Northern Attitude’ hitmaker has now responded! He pays tribute to Anna and - excitingly - confirms he'd be over the moon for them to perform together.

Hilariously, Kahan reveals, “I have been trying to comment on this for 24 hours but was logged out of my account lol...”, before celebrating Anna's performance, “...you are amazing and I am a huge fan. Let’s sing this exact arrangement at the fest!!!”

With REDWEST Festival taking place in mid-October in Salt Lake City, Utah, we can't wait to see Anna and Kahan delivering this fan-favourite track together for the first time ever.
