Riley Green has compiled a list of his favourite summer anthems, with the Alabama native showing love to an array of country titans, including Morgan Wallen, Lainey Wilson, the late Toby Keith and more as part of his Apple Music Summertime Sounds playlist.
While many artists - like Megan Moroney and Morgan Wallen, for instance - have used their Summertime Sounds playlists to showcase their eclectic music tastes, incorporating songs from an array of genres, like pop, Hip-Hop, indie-rock and more.
Green, on the other hand, takes the opportunity to underline just how much he loves country music - regardless of the season. He's tipped his cap to a multitude of greats, including classics like George Strait's ‘Give It All We Got Tonight’, Tim McGraw's ‘Just to See You Smile’ and Lynyrd Skynyrd's ‘Sweet Home Alabama’.
Old-school country definitely shines through as Green's style of choice, something you can hear across his catalogue, with the Alabama native, for instance, paying homage to one of his idols, Toby Keith, on his recent single, ‘Think As You Drunk’.
He also makes room for some modern country earworms, tipping his cap to his former tour-mate Morgan Wallen by including his holiday-heartbreak ode, ‘Sand In My Boots’, as well as spotlighting Lainey Wilson's romantic offering, ‘Watermelon Moonshine’.
Naturally, of course, Green also includes a few of his own tracks, such as the steamy, viral hit ‘Worst Way’, the early fan-favourite ‘Georgia Time’ and ‘Think As You Drunk’. He continues to pay tribute to Keith by including his version of ‘Should've Been a Cowboy’, which was featured in Apple Music's collection of contemporary Keith covers.
In addition, on Green's star-studded Summertime Sounds playlist you can also hear gems from artists like Cody Johnson, Randy Travis, David Lee Murphy and Joe Diffie, making this the perfect soundtrack for a rurally-inspired, nostalgic end to the summer.
