Megan Moroney Shows Love to Morgan Wallen, Kenny Chesney, Lainey Wilson and More with ‘Summertime Sounds’ Playlist on Apple Music

Megan Moroney has shared an array of her favourite summer songs as part of her Summertime Sounds playlist on Apple Music, with the self-proclaimed ‘Emo Cowgirl’ showing love to artists like Morgan Wallen, Kenny Chesney, Lainey Wilson and more.
Moroney showcases her refreshingly eclectic taste in music in this playlist - which is playfully called Summertime Sounds: Emo Cowgirl Summer - with the Georgia native including artists from a multitude of genres. Alongside country staples like Tim McGraw, The Chicks and Florida Georgia Line, for instance, Moroney also spotlights pop phenoms such as Sabrina Carpenter, Tate McRae and Benson Boone.
When the first iteration of Moroney's Summertime Sounds playlist emerged last summer, the internet was buzzing about the fact that she included Wallen's I'm the Problem stand-out, ‘TN’. At the time, of course, rumours were circulating that ‘TN’ was about Moroney.
Moroney adds another I'm the Problem gem into the mix, with ‘Falling Apart’ featuring on her 2026 Summertime Sounds playlist. This is one of the most under-rated offerings on Wallen's 2025 album, with the heartbroken, despondent ballad showcasing that not all summer songs have to be bright, breezy and joyful.
This is, after all, an Emo Cowgirl Summer, with Moroney staying true to the theme by mixing in some introspective odes alongside the more celebratory, uplifting earworms.
In the latter category is Kenny Chesney's ‘Summertime’, with Moroney also featuring her full-circle, CMA-nominated duet with the Beach Country legend, ‘You Had To Be There’.
Moroney tips her cap to a host of modern country stand-outs like Lainey Wilson's ‘Somewhere Over Laredo’, Zach Top's ‘Good Times & Tan Lines’, Luke Combs’ ‘Back in the Saddle’, Tucker Wetmore's ‘Casino’ and Vincent Mason's ‘Hell is a Dance Floor’.
Moroney also makes room for her close friend and frequent co-writer, Mackenzie Carpenter, with Carpenter's old-school Midland collaboration, ‘I Wish You Would’, included.
Moroney's ‘I Only Miss You’ collaborator, Ed Sheeran, appears a couple of times in this Summertime Sounds compilation, with ‘Old Phone’ and ‘First Times’ making the cut.
In addition, there are an array of fan-favourites from pop, country and genre-blurring artists like Gracie Abrams, Justin Bieber, Kelsea Ballerini, Thomas Rhett, Luke Bryan and more.
As summer is now drawing to a close, with a couple of weeks left before it's officially Fall, it feels like the perfect time to listen to this bittersweet collection of songs that highlight the full myriad of colours and moods the season can bring with it.
