During an appearance on the In the Blind Podcast, Riley Green has dismissed rumours that he's in a relationship with Megan Moroney, but championed her as “talented”, before toasting her revamped version of Brooks & Dunn's ‘Ain't ‘Nothing Bout You’.

When asked about his current dating life, Riley Green coyly responded that he was “single”. As the In the Blind hosts pressed him for more details, questioning “how single” he really was, the ‘Different ‘Round Here’ hitmaker simply shared, “Pretty damn”.

It comes in light of TikTok sleuths piecing together various Instagram Stories and posts that seemingly suggest Riley Green and Megan Moroney are, in fact, in a relationship.

For instance, both artists have been sharing photos from a vacation in St. Barts, with Riley Green uploading an image of him surrounded by baby sharks. When followers noticed a figure reflected in his sunglasses - assumed to be Megan Moroney - Green stoked the flames of speculation by deleting the photo and reposting it with his sunglasses blacked out. In addition, there was the infamous photo of Moroney supposedly wearing the cowboy hat Green was donning in an earlier IG Story.

It's not the first time Riley Green and Megan Moroney have found themselves at the centre of dating conjecture, with many fans willing Green and his ‘You Look Like You Love Me‘ collaborator, Ella Langley, to translate their musical chemistry into a real-life relationship, while the buzz surrounding Moroney's break-out hit, ‘Tennessee Orange’, was partly fuelled by the notion that it was written about Morgan Wallen.

Elsewhere during Riley Green's In the Blind discussion, the ‘Worst Way’ singer-songwriter nimbly avoided a pointed question about Megan Moroney by describing how “talented” he thinks she is. Green recalled being struck by Moroney's version of ‘Ain't Nothing ‘Bout You’ with Brooks & Dunn for their Reboot II project, “You know, I did the Brooks & Dunn Reboot this time, and I went to listen to it and my favourite song on there is not mine. She did ‘[Ain't] Nothing ‘Bout You’”.

He went on, “I forgot all about that song. I wish I would've done that, but it's so hard to take something that was already right, and make it your own or try to make it better. That was one of those where it was almost kind of rock-feeling. A really cool version of it”.

The ‘I Wish Grandpas Never Died’ crooner concluded, “Yeah, I had to sing ‘She Used to Be Mine’ with [Ronnie Dunn] sitting there in the room. It's probably a little easier for her - somebody a little more talented vocally than I am, but that's a tough thing to go do”.

It's safe to say fans will agree with Riley Green's warm assessment of Megan Moroney's vocal and songwriting ability. The Georgia native is quickly establishing herself as a future Entertainer of the Year contender, following the success of 2024's Am I Okay?

As for whether Riley Green's outright relationship dismissal on the In the Blind Podcast has succeeded in quashing the rumours, that remains to be seen, with many still believing that Green and Megan Moroney are simply attempting to keep their romance private.

If they're not dating, then we at least hope there's a collaboration on the way, with the duo linking up to deliver a stellar rendition of Green's ‘Don't Mind If I Do’ during a 2024 concert.
