Although Parker McCollum is currently preparing to release a new studio album, Never Enough, in a matter of weeks, it seems the chart-topping Texas singer-songwriter isn't wasting any time in starting work on his follow-up project.

He's teased an unreleased song, ‘Got Damn’, which is not due to appear on the new album's tracklist. McCollum confirmed that it was still unfinished, but after sharing a brief demo across his socials, fans are now clamouring for him to hit the studio and complete it as soon as possible.

‘Got Damn’ pivots around a forlorn, yearning harmonica, and definitely feels more closely aligned to McCollum's earlier material. Many have praised this apparent return to the more stripped-back, alt-country sound of his debut release, The Limestone Kid.

Although ‘Got Damn’ isn't set to appear on Never Enough, which is due to be released on May 12, some are speculating that it might well feature on an upcoming acoustic album.

In a recent flurry of tweets, the ‘Pretty Heart’ hitmaker revealed that he was indeed readying an acoustic project, which is expected to be released later in the year.

It'll presumably feature ‘Got Damn’, as well as another previously teased fan-favourite, ‘Hope That I'm Enough’. When one of Parker McCollum's followers shared the lyrics to the much-loved unreleased song this week, the country star responded by reassuring them, “Will be on acoustic album. Didn't forget about this one trust me”.

Thankfully, 2023 is shaping up to be a year packed with a plethora of new Parker McCollum music. While we keenly wait for more news regarding ‘Got Damn’s official release, we'll be playing his new album, Never Enough, on repeat once it drops on May 12.
