While X has a reputation for the trolls and division that plague the platform, we've been treated to some new heartwarming content courtesy of Megan Moroney and Brad Paisley.
Out of the blue, Megan Moroney has taken to X to gush about Brad Paisley's now-iconic 2003 record, Mud On The Tires, with the ’Tennessee Orange’ singer-songwriter sharing, “no one asked but mud on the tires is my favorite album of all time”.
Megan Moroney name-checked a few Mud On The Tires stand-outs, “make a mistake??? somebody knows u now??? little moments? celebrity????? that’s love????????” She then endearingly shared, “wherever brad paisley is today i hope he’s having a good day”.
Mud On The Tires is undoubtedly one of Brad Paisley's most revered albums, with the project spawning an array of genre-defining anthems, including the playful title-track - the story of which was inventively extended last year in the form of ’Truck Still Works’ - and his cover of the utterly heartbreaking ‘Whiskey Lullaby’ with Alison Krauss.
Brad Paisley was quick to respond to Megan Moroney's complimentary comments, with Paisley showcasing his trademark humour by quipping, “@_megmoroney to answer your question…Sitting in the waiting room at the dentist office for my kids appointment and this made my day”, before Moroney replied, “BRAD<33333”.
Brad Paisley continued the good-natured back-and-forth by expressing his appreciation for Megan Moroney's music, teasing that they should collaborate on a follow-up to the Tennessee Volunteers-inspired ‘Tennessee Orange’ with a tribute to Paisley's beloved West Virginia Mountaineers, “You are two of my last Shazams…I love Tennessee Orange, but I’m partial to West Virginia Blue…so let’s write that one next!”
As ‘Truck Still Works’ highlighted, Brad Paisley loves a sequel - but we reckon he was just joking about penning a sibling-track to Megan Moroney's break-out hit, ’Tennessee Orange’.
Nonetheless, the phrasing of “so let's write that one next” seems to imply that Brad Paisley and Megan Moroney have already written together in the past - and if that turns out to be the case, then we can't wait to hear the fruits of that collaborative session.
