Morgan Wallen's brand new single, ‘Love Somebody’, has debuted at the top of the UK Country Radio Airplay Chart, marking the first time a song has slotted straight in at No. 1.
Despite only being released on Friday, October 18th, ‘Love Somebody’ has already surged to the pinnacle of the rankings, after accumulating a whopping 898,300 impressions.
The breezy, Latin-inspired ‘Love Somebody’ serves as the second preview of Morgan Wallen's highly anticipated new studio album, following the arrival of ’Lies, Lies, Lies’ in July. ‘Love Somebody’ explores a novel sound for the Sneedville megastar, perhaps hinting that his next project will feature more of the refreshing genre-blending experimentation that pervaded 2023's One Thing At A Time.
The closest challenger to ‘Love Somebody’ during this frame, dated from October 18 to 24, was the title-track to Megan Moroney's 2024 album, Am I Okay?, which amassed 659,071 impressions. Moroney's ‘Am I Okay?’, however, has to settle for No. 2, with the playful, feel-good anthem expected to hit the peak in the coming weeks.
Completing the stacked Top Five this week is Jordan Davis’ ‘I Ain't Sayin’, Kane Brown's ‘Backseat Driver’ and Shaboozey's ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ at No. 3, 4 and 5 respectively.
The biggest mover in this frame was Kane Brown's new single, ‘Backseat Driver’, which jumped up 167%, taking the sweet, heartwarming ode to his children up from No. 46 to No. 4.
Alongside ‘Love Somebody’, this week's UK Country Radio Airplay Chart saw brand new entries from a plethora of tracks: Kelsea Ballerini's ‘Sorry Mom’ (No. 33), Noeline Hoffman's ‘One Hell Of A Woman‘ (No. 34), Bowen Young and Kezia Gill's ‘Hair Of The Dog’ (No. 37), Ringo Starr's ‘Time On My Hands’ (No. 38), Danny and the Champions of the World's ‘Talking a Good Game’ (No. 39), Kelsea Ballerini's ‘Nothing Really Matters’ (No. 40), Twinie's ‘Blue Hour’ (No. 41) and MacKenzie Porter and Owen Riegling's ‘Coming Home To You (Bigger Houses)’ (No. 45).
