While Morgan Wallen's ‘Last Night’ continues to enjoy an impressive run atop Billboard's all-genre Hot 100 chart, the angsty, infectious anthem has now also hit No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
In doing so, ‘Last Night’ becomes the first song in history to simultaneously top both Billboard's Hot 100 and Country Airplay rankings, and underlines Wallen's unique ability to dominate within his genre, while also disrupting the status quo on the mainstream, pop-dominated charts.
As ‘Last Night’ surges to the top of Billboard's Country Airplay chart, it earns Morgan Wallen his ninth No. 1 at Country Radio. It's been a successful week all-round for the Sneedville megastar, with the album that spawned ‘Last Night’, One Thing At A Time, remaining at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200. Its popularity has helped to pull Wallen's 2021 double-album, Dangerous, back up the chart to No. 5.
Since releasing One Thing At A Time on March 3, Wallen has obliterated a seemingly innumerable array of records. Towards the end of April, the ‘Whiskey Glasses’ hitmaker became the first ever artist to have three songs inside the Billboard Country Airplay Top Ten.
Upon the 36-song album's release, it posted the biggest US streaming week in history for a country album, notching up 315 million streams in just four days. This surpassed Taylor Swift's previously held record for her much-loved project, Red (Taylor's Version).
With each of the tracks on One Thing At A Time soaring in popularity throughout March, Morgan Wallen quickly stormed past Drake to set a new record for the most simultaneous entries on the Billboard Hot 100 since the chart began.
Unsurprisingly, a slew of these songs have made their way into Morgan Wallen's 2023 setlist, with the genre-blending singer-songwriter having recently resumed his One Night At A Time world tour, following a short stint away on vocal rest.
Throughout his shows so far, he's been treating attendees to electrifying renditions of One Thing At A Time highlights such as ‘Everything I Love’, ‘You Proof’, ‘Sunrise’, ‘Ain't That Some’, ‘I Wrote The Book’, ‘Thought You Should Know’ and more.
After this latest Billboard triumph, Morgan Wallen's most recent chart-topper, ‘Last Night’, has undoubtedly solidified its place in his set for many years to come.
