Morgan Wallen's celebrated 2021 double-album, Dangerous, has now been certified six-times Platinum, in recognition of the 30-song project selling the equivalent of six million units.
Wallen's latest plaque for Dangerous arrives just three months after the record was certified five-times Platinum back in April. Despite having been released over two years ago, the album's enduring popularity has ensured it remains in the top five of the Billboard 200, with Dangerous also taking fourth place in Luminate's mid-year 2023 chart report this week.
In addition to going six-times Platinum, seven songs from Dangerous have received new Platinum awards, such as the much-loved singles, ‘More Than My Hometown’ (five-times Platinum) and ‘Somebody's Problem’ (three-times Platinum).
Both remain staples of Wallen's 2023 One Night At A Time world tour setlist, with many fans still championing them as two of the Sneedville hitmaker's best songs to date.
Also earning Morgan Wallen new accolades is the addictive, whiskey-soaked ‘865’, which has now gone two-times Platinum, while four other Dangerous fan-favourites, ‘More Surprised Than Me’, ‘Wonderin’ Bout The Wind’, ‘Me On Whiskey’ and the Chris Stapleton-assisted ‘Only Thing That's Gone’ have received their first Platinum certifications.
Dangerous‘ success has undoubtedly been aided by the immense popularity of its 2023 follow-up project, One Thing At A Time, which remains the longest-running No. 1 album of the decade so far. Dangerous was the first album in history to spend 100 weeks in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200, and it seems One Thing At A Time is en route to emulating Dangerous and scoring its own streaming century.
Earlier in the week, an array of highlights from One Thing At A Time picked up new RIAA certifications, including ‘Thinkin’ Bout Me’ (Platinum), ‘You Proof’ (four-times Platinum)’ and ‘98 Braves’ (Gold).
