Morgan Wallen is opening up about how hew views some of the most painful experiences in his life as ‘God-moments’, with Wallen sharing how these make him a better person.

During an episode of Morgan Wallen Radio, the Sneedville native touches on what he considers the biggest ‘God-moments’ in his life, qualifying his answer by hinting that they wouldn't necessarily be the moments people would expect him to highlight.

For instance, you might assume Wallen's mind would immediately turn to his sold-out stadium shows, his major award victories or his innumerable chart-topping successes.

Instead, the ‘Love Somebody’ singer-songwriter reflects on the painful moments in his life, seeing those as more transformative examples of when God has been at work to help him grow, compared to the times when he's felt on top of the world.

Wallen explains, “I think there's been a bunch of God-moments in my life. Most of them are not what most people would think...is a God-moment. Most of my God moments are probably super negative at the time. I think I'm hard-headed, so that's the way I learn”.

The ‘Last Night’ hitmaker goes on to underline how he sees these tough moments as crucial in order for him to learn and evolve from his mistakes, “I have to go through something that hurts in order to become better, and I think that's when I see God, when I seek God, when I try to find God the most is when I'm hurting”.

Wallen has never shied away from the fact that he has made mistakes in his life, with the country titan having been embroiled in a multitude of high-profile controversies, ranging from his infamous chair-throwing debacle to his racial slur incident.

But as he outlines here, he is aware that he has made wrong-turns, and ultimately, he's seen these as learning opportunities rather than the-world-is-ending catastrophes.

He touches on how he has fallen short in the past on his deeply vulnerable ode to his son, Indie, ‘Superman’, which appeared on Wallen's lauded 2025 album, I'm the Problem.

On that song, Wallen asks his son for grace, understanding and empathy in light of his previous errors, “Now and then, that bottle's my kryptonite / Brings a man of steel down to his knees / Don't always know my wrong from right / Sometimes I'm my own worst enemy / No, I don't always save the day / But you know for you, I'll always try / I do the best I can, but Superman's / Still just a man sometimes”.

It's undoubtedly refreshing to hear Wallen speak so highly about moments that would appear from the outside-looking-in to be low-points, with the ‘Been By Now’ crooner constantly looking for how God is working through these challenges, rather than taking a ‘woe-is-me’ attitude and lamenting that he's ended up there.

Wallen has often touched on his Christian faith through Morgan Wallen Radio, and his father, Tommy, has a faith-based series on the SiriusXM channel in which he explores a different Bible verse each week. Judging by Wallen's meditations about ‘God-moments’, it seems he now sees everything as being part of God's bigger plan, and that he trusts that everything will work out for good. When viewing life through this lens, even the difficult moments carry a greater purpose.
