Country megastar Morgan Wallen is letting the ink dry on his new publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music (WCM).

Most notably, as part of the agreement, Wallen now has the opportunity to sign his own crop of songwriters in partnership with the publishing house.

“I look forward to working with Warner Chappell as my new music publishing partner and would like to thank them for also offering support in signing songwriters I believe in," Wallen said. "In many ways, I feel like I’ve always been a songwriter first, and because of that, the publishing community is especially close to my heart. I’m honored to use this partnership as an opportunity to give other songwriters a helping hand.”

While this deal with WCM doesn't apply to his pre-existing recording catalog, it opens the floodgates for Wallen to tap into new talent and bring new writers in with him.

Throughout his lengthy career as a singer-songwriter, the reigning BMI Country Songwriter of the Year has penned a slew of hits for both himself and other artists in the format.

For his own discography, this includes 'Chasin’ You', '7 Summers', 'You Proof', 'Thought You Should Know' and more. In terms of outside cuts, Wallen's songs have been recorded by Keith Urban, Jason Aldean, Corey Kent, Florida Georgia Line and Kane Brown, among others.

“When you listen to the craftsmanship of songs that Morgan is writing, such as the modern-day classics ‘7 Summers’ and ‘Thought You Should Know,’ and the impactful songs he’s written for other artists like ‘You Make It Easy’ (Jason Aldean) and ‘Wild as Her’ (Corey Kent), you start to understand that the man from East Tennessee is quickly becoming one of the most important songwriters of this generation,” shares Ben Vaughn, President & CEO, WCM Nashville. “Our entire Warner Chappell team is so proud of the opportunity to represent his songs.”

In the last year, Wallen has enjoyed an utterly inexplicable surge to stardom, which is impressive considering he was already on the cutting edge of modern country music royalty.

His 2023 supersized album, One Thing At A Time, broke the 30-year record for most weeks atop the Billboard 200 chart for a country album (18 non-consecutive) and was named Luminate’s Top U.S. Album of 2023.

Similarly, his 6x Platinum single, 'Last Night', which recently notched its first anniversary, was the longest-running No. 1 solo song in Billboard Hot 100 history, notching 16 total weeks.

Across his career thus far, Wallen has cemented himself as one of the genre's leaders, pushing country music into previously uncharted territory and making it accessible to throngs of consumers out of country's typical reach.

With the option to now sign his own songwriters, in a sense, it opens up an opportunity for Wallen to impart his hard-fought wisdom and experience to the next generation of hitmakers and a new era of superstars-in-the-making.
