During Miranda Lambert's headlining appearance at Gulf Coast Jam, the country star performed a special rendition of Morgan Wallen's ‘Thought You Should Know’.

Miranda Lambert took the stage on Friday night at Florida's balmy Panama City Beach to perform an array of hits from across her stellar discography. One of the many highlights of Lambert's set came when she stripped back the lights and the backing, and delivered an intricate, heartwarming cover of Wallen's eighth Country Radio No. 1 single.

Lambert co-wrote the endearing Mother's Day ode alongside Nicolle Galyon and Wallen, with the vulnerable, introspective ballad featuring on the latter's chart-topping 2023 opus, One Thing At A Time.

In a recent interview, Miranda Lambert remarked that the 36-song project is her favourite album of the year so far, with ‘Thought You Should Know’ being one of the record's many highlights.

Lambert is currently readying new music of her own, with her hotly anticipated collaboration with Leon Bridges, ‘If You Were Mine’, due to be released on June 6.

Following the single release, an album announcement is expected to arrive in the coming weeks. With Miranda Lambert having confirmed that she wrote a second song with Morgan Wallen and Nicolle Galyon during their writing session, many are wondering whether this unreleased track could be included on Lambert's next project.

Morgan Wallen was originally set to join Miranda Lambert on the 2023 Gulf Coast Jam bill, but was forced to pull out after re-injuring his vocal chords during a run of shows in early May. The Sneedville megastar has since been unveiled as a headliner for the 2024 instalment.
