One of the brightest new faces in the genre, Miss Megan Moroney, has achieved her biggest career milestone to date as she nabs two nominations at the 57th Annual CMA Awards.
Marking her first nods with the Country Music Association, the Georgia songstress' breakout single, 'Tennessee Orange,' has earned a nod for Song of the Year.
The football-themed tale of a forbidden love took country music by storm upon its release in fall of 2022, and reached the pinnacle of the country radio charts less than a year later in June of 2023. Serving as one of the strongest debut singles in recent memory, the song's masterful writing puts it right in place among the other CMA Song of the Year nominees.
'Tennessee Orange' is among a stacked group of other beloved hits from the last year, including 'Fast Car' (Luke Combs), 'Heart Like A Truck' (Lainey Wilson), 'Next Thing You Know' (Jordan Davis) and 'wait in the truck' (HARDY).
Moroney has also been nominated for New Artist of the Year alongside Zach Bryan, Jelly Roll, Parker McCollum and Hailey Whitters. The two ladies in the category were also seated together in the ACM New Female Artist of the Year category earlier this spring.
The 57th Annual CMA Awards, hosted by Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning will be broadcasted live from Nashville on Wednesday, November 8 on ABC. For the full list of nominations and details regarding the show, head here.
