Lauren Watkins has released her eagerly awaited new EP, Introducing: The Heartbreak, with the country prodigy continuing to establish herself as one of the future stars of the genre.
As well as showcasing the joyously neo-traditional sound that has earned the Tennessee native a rapidly burgeoning fanbase, Lauren Watkins also brings together two of her good buddies on the project for a couple of stand-out collaborations.
Lauren Watkins recruits her Big Loud label-mate, Jake Worthington, for ‘Fly On The Wall’, while Carter Faith joins Lauren for their beautifully nostalgic ode to Nashville's classic country roots.
Introducing: The Heartbreak follows hot on the heels of Lauren Watkins' debut EP, Introducing: Lauren Watkins, which spawned the now-iconic track, ‘Shirley Temple’.
Introducing: The Heartbreak is pervaded by the unmistakably cool and enchantingly laid-back aura that underpins Lauren Watkins’ signature sound, but at the same time, the up-and-coming artist isn't afraid to introduce some swagger and refreshing playfulness on the likes of ‘Stuck In My Ways’ and ‘Fine County Line’.
Similarly, Lauren's captivating vocals and trademark lyricisim shine just as lustrously on the more drawn-in numbers, such as ‘Cowboys On Music Row’ and the EP's closer, ‘The Table’.
The release of Introducing: The Heartbreak has undoubtedly whet fans’ appetites heading into Lauren Watkins’ highly anticipated upcoming album, which is expected to drop in 2024.
