As Yellowstone Season 5 began its mid-season hiatus, many fans expressed fears that they wouldn't be able to wait until the summer before seeing their favourite characters reunite in Montana.

Although it may not have been at Dutton Ranch, Yellowstone aficionados were recently treated to the reconnection of two much-loved characters from the new season, Abby and Ryan.

During a set in California, Lainey Wilson, who joined the Yellowstone cast towards the end of 2022 as Abby, surprised fans with a guest appearance from her co-star, Ian Bohen.

Bohen plays Ryan, Abby's love interest, and while on-stage, Lainey made a number of tongue-in-cheek references to their on-screen relationship.

Before bringing Bohen on-stage, Lainey paid tribute to the incredible experience of getting to be a part of the new Yellowstone season, which proved to be another hugely popular instalment for Kevin Costner's award-winning neo-Western series.

Lainey celebrated the fact that she was able to remain true to her own personality during the role, “I pretty much got to be myself. I got to wear my bell bottoms, I got to sing my own songs”.

The ‘Heart Like A Truck’ hitmaker went on to tease the appearance of her special guest, “I tell ya, I have met some of the best people in that cast and crew, and I got somebody here tonight - Abby’s true love. Y’all give it up for Ryan on Yellowstone”.

As Bohen emerged to a chorus of applause, Lainey underlined how enjoyable the pair's on-set moments together were, “This dude right here has become one of my best friends. He is one of the most talented people I have ever met on the face of the earth. He has taught me so much just from being around him. Y’all give it up for Ian Bohen”.

She concluded by poking fun at the couple's on-screen kisses, prompting laughter around the venue when she commented, “Y'all saw us make out in episodes 6 and 7. 20 dollars is 20 dollars, ain't that right?

Lainey Wilson is currently in the middle of her blockbuster Country With A Flare tour, having recently performed two shows in California.

At the moment, Lainey is heading up north to return to the home of Yellowstone's Dutton Ranch, for a set in Bozeman, Montana at The ELM on January 19.

A handful of Lainey Wilson's songs made it into the Yellowstone Season 5 soundtrack, with Lainey performing a slew of new tracks during the episodes.

‘Smell Like Smoke’, ‘New Friends’, ‘Watermelon Moonshine’ and ‘Hold My Halo’ appeared in Season 5, all of which feature on the Louisiana native's 2022 album, Bell Bottom Country.

The project was met with widespread acclaim, and was included in Holler's Albums of the Year 2022.

Fans recently received a visualiser for one of the highlights from the project, the high-energy anthem, ‘Road Runner’, in celebration of the first night of Lainey's 2023 tour.

Later this year, Lainey will join Eric Church's keenly anticipated The Outsiders Revival 2023 Tour, which is also set to feature artists such as Midland, Whiskey Myers, Cody Jinks, Ashley McBryde, Parker McCollum, Jelly Roll, Hailey Whitters and more.
