Lainey Wilson is spending her second week in a row at No. 1 on the UK Country Radio Airplay Chart, with her uptempo single, ‘Hang Tight Honey’, retaining the top spot during the frame dated July 26 to August 1 with a grand total of 807,281 impressions.
The fun, playful ode to the excitement of returning home after weeks spent out on the road will feature on Lainey Wilson's new studio album, Whirlwind, which arrives on August 23.
‘Hang Tight Honey’, which has been accompanied by a nostalgic, rose-tinted music video, will be joined by the likes of ‘Country's Cool Again’, ‘4X4XU’ and the newly unveiled, Miranda Lambert-assisted ’Good Horses’ on the keenly anticipated record.
On this week's chart, ‘Hang Tight Honey’ sees off stiff competition from Luke Combs’ stormy, tempestuous Twisters: the Album single, ’Ain't No Love in Oklahoma’, which has to settle for second position with 732,574 impressions across four radio stations.
Completing the Top 5 on this frame is Ella Langley and Riley Green's viral, old-timey duet, ’you look like you love me’, at No. 3, with Post Malone and Luke Combs’ infectious collaboration, ‘Guy For That’, and Megan Moroney's swaggering, post-break-up anthem, ‘Indifferent’, landing at No. 4 and No. 5 respectively. The fact that ‘Guy For That’ ranks this highly is made all the more impressive when considering it was only released on Friday, July 26, meaning it debuts at No. 4.
The biggest mover this week is Carly Pearce's ‘Truck On Fire’, which earned a staggering 314% increase in impressions, and in turn ensures the track races away to No. 26.
As well as ‘Guy For That’, this iteration of the chart has also seen new entries from Drew Baldridge's ’She's Somebody's Daughter’, Jordan Davis’ ‘I Ain't Sayin’, Kacey Musgraves’ ‘Irish Goodbye’, Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors’ ‘Find Your People’, Dolly Parton's ‘Southern Accents’ and Kacey Musgraves’ ‘Jade Green’.
