On Tuesday afternoon (March 5), Lainey Wilson graced The Kelly Clarkson Show to dish about everything from her impending world tour to her love of Dolly Parton, as well as perform her most recent hit with Clarkson herself.
The two vocalists spent much of the daytime television program gushing over each other's talent, Clarkson commending Wilson on her unique sound and Wilson admiring the host's recent cover of her Bell Bottom Country lead single 'Heart Like A Truck.'
"Even when you're up here just covering everybody else's songs, it's not just like you learned the words and got up there, I mean you are feeling it for everything that it is," the 'Watermelon Moonshine' artist told Clarkson in reference to her regular show segment Kellyoke. "I just want to thank you for doing that. That means so much to me that you got up there and sang 'Heart Like A Truck.'"
Elsewhere in the show, Wilson revealed a motto she lives by day-to-day, telling the host and fellow guest, broadcaster Hoda Kotb, she looks to the mantra "W-W-Double-D," or "What Would Dolly Do?"
"She's given me so much advice," the artist explained. "Even before I knew her, the amount that she taught me, just from the way that she carries herself. She's not scared to go do it all... I just look up to her a whole lot. I think she's the best."
The show also saw the two stars take on Wilson's most recent single release, the twang-fueled 'Country's Cool Again,' in an extra-special Kellyoke duet. The pair donned their best all-denim duds to showcase a smoldering rendition of the soon-to-be country classic.
In the program, Clarkson praised the song and Wilson's yet-to-be unveiled new album, likening Wilson's voice to a love child between Parton and Lee Ann Womack of 'I Hope You Dance' fame.
