Lainey Wilson delivered a spectacular medley of hits during the 2024 People's Choice Awards in Santa Monica, California, during which she also took home the Female Country Artist award.
Lainey took the stage against a bucolic, mountainous backdrop, with the entire set bathed in the glow of an artificial sunset, before the Louisiana native launched into her most recent release, ‘Country's Cool Again’, which dropped on February 16.
After kicking off her medley with a swaggering rendition of the new track, Lainey briefly segued into her first hit, ‘Things A Man Oughta Know’, before treating the audience to snippets of recent No. 1s, ‘Heart Like A Truck’ and ‘Watermelon Moonshine’.
Both appeared on Lainey's widely acclaimed 2022 project, Bell Bottom Country, which also spawned her latest Country Radio single, ‘Wildflowers and Wild Horses’.
With Lainey Wilson and her fellow band-members dressed in classic Western wear, combined with the brush, windmill and rural imagery used for the staging, the performance felt as though it was delivered straight from the iconic Yellowstone ranch.
As well as contributing one of the stand-out performances of the evening, Lainey Wilson was named 2024 Female Country Artist, with her good friend and ‘Save Me’ collaborator, Jelly Roll, being awarded the 2024 Male Country Artist accolade.
