Lainey Wilson and her husband Devlin ’Duck’ Hodges have shared new photos and videos from their horse-racing weekend at Keeneland Racecourse in Lexington, Kentucky.
After offering fans a behind-the-scenes look at their time at the Breeders Cup World Championships via her Instagram Stories, Wilson has uploaded a new Instagram carousel documenting their trip to the so-called ‘Horse Capital of the World’.
With the playful caption, “my money’s on the one with four legs”, Wilson has shared shots of her and Duck enjoying the action, as well as getting to meet some of the horses, such as WinStar Farm team's record-setting sprinter horse, Cogburn.
Given the fact that, as well as being known for its horse-racing, Lexington also has a stellar reputation for its food, it's perhaps unsurprising that the ‘Heart Like a Truck’ singer-songwriter also includes shots of some delicious-looking steaks. Additionally, there's a video of what looks to be a pretty fantastic jockey-inspired cake.
Wilson has a long history with horses, with the 2023 and 2025 CMA Entertainer of the Year growing up on a family farm in Baskin, Louisiana. Her father, Brian, was an avid a farmer and horse trader, so her love of horses was instilled from an early age.
It's a topic that is clearly close to her heart, with the ‘Country's Cool Again’ hitmaker drawing inspiration from all things equine on her fan-favourite songs, ‘Wild Flowers & Wild Horses’ and ‘Good Horses’. On the latter especially, Wilson using the idea that horses always make their way home as a metaphor for how, despite having a love of travel and adventure, she always remembers where her roots are. Wilson even poses with a horse for the artwork for her 2025 album, Whirlwind.
Wilson is currently gearing up to host the star-studded CMA Awards on Wednesday, November 18th, with the country titan cementing herself as one of the biggest names in the genre. Following two stellar singles - ‘Phone, Keys, Wallet’ and ‘Kinda Love It’ - we're excited to hear what she has up her sleeve for her next album. And hopefully - if we're lucky - we might get another horse-inspired love-song, maybe even one inspired by this weekend away in Lexington with Duck.
