Kaitlin Butts On Touring With Lainey Wilson: “She Does So Much More Behind The Scenes”

In a recent interview with Taste of Country, Kaitlin Butts talked about touring with Lainey Wilson and how the ‘Whirlwind’ singer truly can’t sit still.
“We were having an off day,” Butts shared, “and we’re by the pool and she’s taking a zoom call or we’re going to dinner and we’re waiting for the food to come and we’ve got 20 minutes to spare and I’m watching her do a photo shoot for her hat company.”
Wilson released her song, ‘Can’t Sit Still’ earlier this year and it seems Butts has seen exactly where the inspiration came from - Wilson’s everyday life.
Butts opened for Wilson on her Whirlwind World Tour in North America in 2025 and more recently, her 2026 Australia & New Zealand Leg.
“I thought being on tour with her would kind of make me understand how she did it,” said Butts, “and it just made me have more questions because she’s doing so much more behind the scenes.”
“But I feel like she does seem kind of unaffected by it,” she continued, “and is just like ‘yeah let’s utilize the time’, like it’s not much to put out for herself. She just has energy and I think when you love what you do you can tell and you’re energised by it.”
Kaitlin Butts album, Hello, Honky Tonk is out on Friday, October 30th, 2026, following the success of recent singles, ‘I Wanna Be Bad’ and ‘What More Could You Want’. This is Butts’ first full length since signing with her new major label, Republic Records, in October 2025.
