Country star Kelsea Ballerini has joined the impressive line-up for Can't Cancel Pride 2023, which is due to take place at the iHeartRadio Theater in Los Angeles on June 15.
The event will be live-streamed online, and will also feature blockbuster performances from the likes of Brandi Carlile, Ciara, Kesha, Adam Lambert, Billy Porter, Big Freedia and Hayley Kiyoko.
The goal of the event, which returns for its fourth year, is once again to raise funds for organisations that are helping LGBTQ+ communities, including GLAAD, SAGE, CenterLink, OutRight International, The Trevor Project, the National Black Justice Coalition and more.
Kelsea Ballerini has been a long-time advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, with the ‘HEARTFIRST’ hitmaker having pointedly performed ‘If You Go Down (I'm Goin’ Down Too)’ at the 2023 CMT Awards earlier this year alongside a group of Ru Paul's Drag Race drag queens.
The performance followed soon after the signing into law of a bill in Tennessee that restricts ‘adult cabaret performances’, which includes ‘male or female impersonators’.
Kelsea is currently gearing up for the last stretch of her run of shows supporting Kenny Chesney on his 2023 I Go Back tour, which concludes at The Wharf in Orange Beach, Alabama on May 27.
So far, she's been performing an array of fan-favourites from her vulnerable new project, Rolling Up The Welcome Mat, which powerfully explores her divorce from fellow country artist, Morgan Evans.
