Yellowstone fans were delighted to hear earlier this summer that Dutton Ranch is officially returning for Season Two, and now, the show's stars Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser have confirmed that filming for the latest instalment is expected to begin in “early 2027.”

We are keeping this piece firmly spoiler free for anyone still finishing Season One, so we won't delve into any key plot-points. Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler will return, though, while we are also hoping to see more familiar faces from across the wider Yellowstone universe - including that long-rumoured cameo from Kayce (Luke Grimes).

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Reilly explained, “We’re slated to start early 2027 to film. But the room starts up pretty quick. I think we’re going to be very much involved in the room, so the next sort of six months is all about writing it”.

There is no release date yet, but with filming beginning in early 2027, it makes late 2027 or 2028 the most likely window to keep in the diary. Filming for Season One began in August 2025, and launched May 15th, 2026. So we are predicting a late Fall premiere for Season Two, but we'll be keeping our eyes peeled for an official date.

We would also love to see the series continue Yellowstone’s tradition of bringing country music into the story. Lainey Wilson, Zach Bryan, Whiskey Myers and Ryan Bingham have all appeared across the franchise, so names such as Cody Johnson, Parker McCollum or Koe Wetzel would feel right at home in Texas.

Beyond the drama, Yellowstone has helped take country culture, Western fashion and ranch life to audiences around the world - including a blossoming UK fanbase.

For now, the key date is early 2027. Beth, Rip and the ranch are preparing to ride again. Watch this space.
